Do you know what excites Corlette and me most about relational wisdom? Its potential for leading others to Christ.
Jesus taught that when our relationships reflect authentic love and unity, the world can see that He is real and that He delights to save us and utterly transform our lives (John 13:35; John 17:23; 2Cor. 3:18).
And that’s what RW360 is all about: equipping Christians to reflect the love of Jesus in all of our relationships, whether at home, in the office, at church, or as we engage a tired coffee barista.
We’ve already reached 30,000 people through live teaching and thousands more through our weekly blog. As a result “RW witnessing†is taking place in wonderful ways: a woman’s unsaved husband was moved to tears by the way one of her believing friends applied RW to a life crisis … a man delayed at an airport used RW to witness to a dozen restless people … a probation officer has been using RW acrostics to teach parolees how to build healthy relationships—and stay out of jail.
On a larger scale, a growing number of churches are sponsoring RW seminars so members can invite unsaved friends to learn relational skills—and hear the gospel … a chaplain has taught relational wisdom to over a thousand military personnel … counselors at crisis pregnancy centers are modeling RW as they guide young women toward life-saving decisions … mission teams are learning how to be more “other-aware†as they serve and witness to people in other cultures.
The examples go on and on … as Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another†(John 13:35).
As you can imagine, this kind of feedback puts wind under our wings! So we are eager to move ahead on projects that will take these benefits to even more people in the coming year.
Our top priority is to complete the first RW book early in 2015, which will include an innovative web interface that allows you to view video clips as you learn new relational skills. Another goal is to complete a web-based evaluation tool that will enable you to measure your personal relational abilities … and track your progress as you grow in relational wisdom.
Increased networking to draw on others’ wisdom is our third priority. In addition to expanding our network of Certified RW Instructors, we plan to begin forming focus groups based on geography (Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe), specialty applications (evangelism, leadership, workplace, marriage, parenting, missions, law enforcement, etc.), and denominational affiliations.
Our staff and network of Certified Instructors and Presenters are eager to press ahead on these fronts so more people have the opportunity to build relationships that give witness to the love of Christ.
Corlette and I would deeply appreciate your prayers and financial support for these efforts. Our goal is to raise $100,000 this month to fund these resource and networking projects. Your gift or monthly pledge will help us to spread gospel-centered relational teaching—and witnessing–around the world.
If you’d like to support our efforts by making a one-time gift or a monthly credit card pledge, or by donating a gift card or a used car or electronic device, please visit our new iDonate portal. We deeply appreciate every gift, whether large or small!
Yours in Christ,
Ken Sande
